ACTIVE INGREDIENT:

  1. Antihistamines help with allergies and other symptoms, and cough suppressants work to temporarily help reduce coughing. Diphenhydramine hydrochloride does both.

    Diphenhydramine hydrochloride, found in Dimetapp, relieves itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, or the common cold. It also works as a cough suppressant to temporarily relieve cough.
